The Common Mill
The tax rates towns publish cannot be compared with each other, because every town works out its assessed values differently. The Common Mill is what you pay each year for every $1,000 your house is worth, across 72 places in Westchester. On a $2,000,000 house that runs from about $28,171 a year in Mount Pleasant to about $54,210 in Cortlandt. Greenburgh alone has ten school districts, and the tax there runs from $29,531 to $53,997.

Each town page says which years and features it has. Scarsdale also has a building-permit archive and documented zoning cases linked to the official pages.
