Median estimated tax on the same 5,416 single-family homes, before STAR (the state school tax relief program). 2026 means the bills paid in 2026: the 2026 town and county bills and the 2026–27 school bill. Each year uses that year's assessment and published rates. Sewer and other special districts are not included. The county has not yet published 2026 rates for this town, so the 2026 county amount is estimated from the 2025 rate.
See what a house at one price pays in every town →Why the mill rates look high
The town uses a low equalization rate, around 13.95%, so the assessed value is a small share of full market value. The mill rates are high to match, because they are charged per $1,000 of that small assessed value instead of per $1,000 of market value. A New Castle mill and a Scarsdale mill apply to different bases, so convert them before you compare them.
