Why the editions feel different in the product
Scarsdale is the flagship because the public record is rich: multi-year rolls, elementary attendance boundaries we can map to streets, and PROS permit pages worth indexing. Larchmont ships a complete village-roll search experience with YoY where files exist. Rye is PROS-first; assessment PDFs were blocked at ingest time, so the 2026 roll is parcel-page derived and prior years are honest empty stubs — which is why year-over-year “Changes” filters stay hidden until real prior data lands.
Comparing taxes across town lines
Do not rank “cheapest town” from Dale Ledger cards alone. Equalization regimes differ; special districts differ; school districts differ. Use each edition to understand that town’s roll, then compare official bills if you are making a life decision.
