Soundview Acres / Quaid farm
Soundview Acres sits on land that had belonged to Hopeton D. Atterbury Quaid. Neighbors said there had been a farm here. Ackerman filed in 1947; Cresin added Harvest Drive in 1949. The Planning Commission blocked the name Soundview, so Hillview was used instead.
Meadow Road (1957), also Ackerman, was later called Scarsdale Meadows. These are late cuts — after the 1920s boom — of leftover ridge farmland on the New Rochelle / White Plains edge.
