Mid-Grove / Gould

Mid-Grove, at King's Road (Broadway) and Ashford Road, was bought by General Samuel Thomas about 1882. Around 1900 it passed to Edwin Gould, Jay Gould's son. Thomas helped start the adjoining Ardsley Country Club in 1895. The house lots came after the Goulds left.

The club took the golf turf. The village streets on Ashford, Broadway, and the inland avenues are the part that was sold.
