Manursing Island Club
A group of Rye residents bought 65 acres on Manursing Island and opened the club in 1912 — tennis, a pool, a beach, and a clubhouse. Island Drive is the residential leftover on that neck.
Some early members came from the older Rye Lawn Tennis Club. In 1919 John McEntee Bowman opened a beach and pool club for Westchester Biltmore members on 62 shorefront acres next door.
