Mamaroneck harbor village

The Village of Mamaroneck incorporated in 1895 around the harbor. Mamaroneck Avenue, Stanley, Bleeker, and the streets off the Post Road are village lots, not a single country place.

The harbor village mixed shops, two-family houses, and later apartments. Fenimore and Sheldrake mark the inland edge toward the town and Larchmont.
