Arthur Manor

This lot sits on the old Arthur farm. In 1891 the Arthur Suburban Home Company bought about 150 acres on Post Road and filed the first suburban plat in Scarsdale. Most of the streets still carry the names of company officers.

Arthur Manor is the southern third of what later became Edgewood. The company sold one-family lots with covenants against shops and factories. Edgewood School opened in 1918 after the farms north of the first plat were sold. Davis Park sits on land the village bought to serve those new streets.
