Eli Kornreich, Executive Director of the Westchester Reform Temple was present. Mr. Kornreich said he is happy to be heard with the four-member board. The proposal is to request a variance for the height of the fence at the rear of the property for security purposes. Our security consultant advised that a four-foot-high fence would not provide adequate protection for the playground area. The Chair asked about the 7-foot fence shown in the parking lot area. Would a 6 foot plus 1 foot see through top style of fence serve the same purpose. Mr. Kornreich said the Temple was advised for a 10-foot solid fence. A 6 foot plus 1 foot on top does not provide the benefits of soundproofing for the neighbors or for protection. The proposed solid 7-foot-high fence would better accomplish our goals. The Chair mentioned the sophisticated landscape screening on either side of the sidewalk. Ifa fence is to be installed it will go in front of the landscape screening. Who will maintain the landscaping on the other side of the fence that is on the Temple’s property. Mr. Kornreich said he believes the shrubs will begin to grow against the fence and then will basically stop growing. The Chair asked about installing the fence along the property line. Mr. Kornreich said that would eliminate the view ofthe shrubbery for our neighbors. The Chair asked if there was anyone who wished to be heard with respect to this application. No persons desiring to be heard, the Chair ended the discussion on the application. KK KOR OK The public hearing for agenda item #1 — 139 White Road will be continued to the October 14, 2026, Board of Appeals meeting: Motion to continue the public hearing to the October 14, 2026, Board of Appeals meeting: Ms. Hoexter
