Largest assessment increases in Tarrytown, 2025 to 2026
Between the 2025 and 2026 rolls, 1,612 Tarrytown properties went up in assessed value, 34 went down, and 19 stayed about the same. This page lists the 50 biggest increases by percentage.
Increases this large usually come from a finished renovation or addition, a teardown replaced by new construction, a subdivision, or a correction to a parcel the assessor had valued too low. A big increase alone does not mean the assessment is wrong.
If your assessment rose sharply and similar homes on your street barely changed, ask the assessor why. The median by street table shows how much a typical home on each street changed. Grievance season in Westchester covers the deadlines and the process if you decide to challenge your assessment.
Parcels with a full market value under $200,000 on the prior roll are left out. At that size, a large percentage change is usually a reclassification or a data correction.

FAQ
Why did my Tarrytown assessment go up in 2026?
Common causes are a finished renovation or addition, new construction, a subdivision, or a correction to an assessment that was too low. The assessor's office can tell you which one applies to your parcel.
Can I challenge an assessment increase?
Yes. New York has a formal grievance process with set yearly deadlines. An increase on its own is not grounds for a grievance. The question is whether your assessment is too high compared with similar properties.
Unofficial. Confirm figures on the Village of Tarrytown and the Town of Greenburgh assessor before you act on them. Tarrytown does not assess its own property, so the Town of Greenburgh publishes the roll.
