Crest Drive and Gunpowder Lane sit in The Crest, a hillside plat filed around 1948 above Benedict Avenue. Houses on Crest Drive date from that cut.

Tarrytown's hillside above Broadway kept filling after the river places were sold. The Crest is the named mid-century plat on that slope. Barnes Road is the same pocket.
